Have you ever accidentally deleted an important file on Google Drive?
And what if that file has also been deleted from the trash?

We’re here to help you get those files back into your Drive.

Here I delete the file test.txt from the trash, so it is gone and can no longer be restored from the trash.

The file test.txt is no longer in the trash. Next I will show you how to get that file back.
- Step 1: open your web browser and search for “Google Drive support” and click on that website.

- Step 2: scroll down, switch your language to English and click Contact us.
- Step 3: in “tell us what we can help with”, enter “I need to restore permanently deleted files” and click Permanently deleted my file. Then click next step.

- Step 4: when the screen below appears, click the email icon and click “Request file recovery“. This step lets you enter the email address on which you want to recover files on Google Drive. Sign in to that email address.

Step 5: next, choose the type of file you want to recover. Select Yes for “Were these files deleted or removed from your trash…”, choose the file type you want to recover under “What type”, then select “I consent” as shown. Finally, click Submit.

- Step 6: go back to your email and check whether Google has sent you a reply. If it has, your file will definitely be recovered. Wait a few minutes and check your Drive again for a nice surprise.
Note: This method can only recover files deleted within the last 25 days.
Good luck!
