Summary: GPIT supplied, installed and provides long-term maintenance for the CCTV surveillance system at Tan Cang – Cai Mep International Terminal (TCIT) in Ba Ria – Vung Tau – a 24/7 operating environment with harsh weather conditions.
Background & challenge
An international container terminal operates around the clock; the CCTV system is a tool for security monitoring, workplace safety and incident investigation. The challenges:
- Cameras are mounted outdoors, close to the sea – fast corrosion, lens fogging and drifting angles.
- Surveillance cannot be interrupted during maintenance.
- Recorded footage must be retained for enough days and be quick to export on request.
GPIT’s solution
- Supply & installation: a camera system for the terminal’s operating areas, with positions and coverage angles calculated on site.
- Scheduled maintenance contract: a routine of inspection – cleaning – tightening mounts – checking infrared; checking recorders, hard drives, retention days and recording configuration.
- Zero-downtime procedure: maintenance is carried out zone by zone so that surveillance coverage is always maintained; a report with photos is issued after each cycle.
Results
- The camera system stays stable in a continuous operating environment.
- Degrading equipment is identified and replaced before failure, reducing surveillance downtime.
- The maintenance partnership has been sustained over several years.
